Аннотация

Implementation of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW Convention), in particular the requirements of the 1995 amendment made it necessary to provide new solutions in the field of teaching not only in scope of the fulfilment the process of teaching, but above all a new approach to the issues related to the assessment. For effective training of seafarers, it is important that the training program has included three key elements: knowledge, skills and competence. Establishing these regulations has allowed to deliver new solutions of teaching in the training of seafarers, such as the use of simulators as teaching aids, e-learning, distance learning etc. STCW Convention forced to define methods of reliable and comprehensive evaluation of the competencies acquired by the seafarers all over the world.
